When it comes to temporarily importing firearms for your hunting adventure with Molopo Kalahari Safaris, we've streamlined the process for your convenience. There are two ways to obtain a temporary import permit for your firearms:
Step 1: Proof of Ownership - Customs 4457 (US citizens)
Register each firearm you intend to bring with your local customs office, demonstrating legal ownership. US citizens can obtain the Customs 4457 form at any customs office in major airports.
Step 2: SAPS 520
Download the SAPS 520 form for the application of a temporary importation permit.
Step 3: Complete SAPS 520
Fill out the SAPS 520 form in black ink only, but refrain from signing it until you arrive at the customs office at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
Step 4: Invitation Letter
Molopo Kalahari Safaris will provide you with an invitation letter, which must accompany your SAPS 520 form.
Step 5: Proof of Export from Country of Origin
For US citizens, the Customs 4457 form also serves as proof of export.
Step 6: Other Documentation Needed
